No self-respecting wet shaving devotee should be just leaving their razor on the countertop all the time.  That's so gauche; you can do better.

I don't really believe the hype you'll see everywhere about a brush needing to be facing down (bristles towards gravity) to endure, though; "calling baloney" based on personal experience.  All any brush really needs is to be carefully shaken out, wiped on a towel, and set to fully dry before its next use (it does dry faster when facing down, though).

But we'd love to sell you something to hold your brush, too!

01.29.13 UPDATE:  Sad but true, but USPS' 1st class mail international rates for small parcels such as most lighter stands have become downright prohibitive compared to the same movement domestically.  They used to have extremely-linear pricing structure for parcels between 4 and 48 ounces; now the rates are very punitive for the smallest pieces, with a marginal discount once you reach ~16oz, and with the same 64-ounce cap still in place.  We'll watch the orders closely and always refund any excessive charge for a stand to move with other goods, but you'll have to pair it with a few heavy things for any real difference to come forth.

The Merkur 904751001 (Chrome) & 904750002 (Matte) stands are much alike the no-bowl-option stands of theirs shown above, but have their lil' prongs pointing straight ahead and are also designed around pairing with a lathering bowl.

Merkur's official Italian-made #904000000 frosted bowl for this stand's of course a perfect fit, but there's going to be a lot of little stands on the market that would likely fit in that slot.

They'll certainly hold a pair of most safety razors, and in fact I don't know of any Merkur model except for "VISION" which won't work with this stand.  The 'gates' are but 15mm wide, so when it comes to brushe I believe it may only fit the Simpsons 'Wee Scot' as well as Merkur's two long-handled models that are "matched" to the 'Futur' and 'VISION' razors.

The Mühle S 9711 Razor/Brush Stand (Chrome) fits nearly every brush we carry, any straight razor, and a very large variety of safety razors.

The Mühle R41/R89/R106 and Merkur's long/thin razors (23C and 25) are the ideal fit, touching top & bottom of razor-holding part.

Shorter-handled Merkur razors (11/15/33/34/37C) fit the top, but don't touch the base...same goes for classic Gillette models; a 'Fat Boy' is shown above next to a massive Vulfix 377.

Mühle's "classic" Sophist 3-piece safeties (R42SR, R68SR, R86SR, etc.) sit in the bottom, and 'rest' at the top, rather than being held.

Merkur Futur fits on the handle rather than the neck; same as the Progress, 510, the 12/38/39 "Barber Pole" models, and even Merkur's Vision/Vision 2000 fits, as seen in the center pic below this text alongside a Vulfix 2236.

The tiny Mühle RHM SR Razor Stand (just 39x31mm WxH and only 64 grams) is made of brass with Mühle's typical terrific smooth chrome plating, and holds Mühle's "classic" style safety razors (R41, R41 "Grande", R89, R89 "Grande", R102, R106, & R107), as well as the "Sophist" and "Stylo" "SR" models (it does NOT accept the Sophist/Stylo models when they're made for the modern cartridge razors, only the classic saftey razor variants).  It also has been tested here, and properly accepts the 11C/15C/23C/25C/33C/34C/37C/41001/42001 Merkur models (sorry, Progress lovers; Progress/Progress XL do NOT fit) .

It was definitely a good suggestion to look into it, but this thing's an emm emm or two too tight to take on the Simpsons Wee Scot brush, too.

It has felt on the bottom, will keep its ground despite its diminutive stature, and ingeniously holds those fancy razors head-down, unlike nearly anything else on the market.

Muhle Basic Brush Stands

Made of acrylic and w/ adhesive backing allowing you to stick on a wall.  Available in black, clear, cream, tortoise, and marble, they've a tapered neck that funnels from ~25mm to a ~21mm opening, essentially allowing any brush with 18-24mm knot to fit fine except the Muhle travel brushes and other 'turnback' travel brushes, such as Omega 50014, Vulfix turnback, and Simpsons 'The Major'.   There's ~70mm between top of stand and top of stand's bottom surface, so your brush head should have plenty of space.  Because Muhle's 'Stylo' shaving brushes have such heavy handles, we don't recommend them with this basic stand. Gotta use that "RHM70" stand for those guys

WE WILL ONLY SHIP THESES STANDS INTERNATIONALLY WHEN ACCOMPANIED BY A Mühle BRUSH ON THE SAME ORDER.  The cost to ship them alone has become so impractical (for the record, it is now $12.15 in postage!) as to make it a non-starter.

The Omega 206-n and 226 Razor/Brush Stand siblings are a home run.

The brush holder's gap acccommodates ~63mm of brush loft and brushes creeping to 26mm worth of knot diameter.  Many, but not all, brushes we sell works well this stand.  Some of the various exceptions include Simpsons' Chubby CH2/CH3, Simpsons' Wee Scot, Vulfix's 40/41/377/2236, and Omega 20102.

The opening for the razor's stem is ~15mm.  It's a great fit for the Mühle R41/R89/R101/R106/R107 clones (but NOT the "Grande" versions), the Merkur 11C/34C/37C 'Heavy Duty' models, the classic Merkur 11C/23C/25C/33C razors, and especially the Merkur Futur.  Merkur's 12C, 38C/38M/38011/38031/38141, 39C, 40031/40141, 43C, 44011, Progress, and Vision models do NOT work, and neither does the Mühle Sophist, Stylo, or "Grande" models (R41 "Grande", R89 "Grande", etc.).

The Omega 172 and 274/CR Brush Stands are cool examples of how something so simple can still have distinguishable flair if coming from Italy.  Rendered in bright chrome that's not the least bit chintzy-looking.

Most brushes we sell work well with these stands...some of the exceptions are noted below.

The 172 (first stand below), because of its opening design, actually accepts the Vulfx 377 and 2236 in 'full bloom' just fine, despite their knots being ~26mm.  It will not accept Omega's 599/10048/10098/20102 models, Simpsons' Wee Scot/Chubby #2/#3/Polo, or Vulfix's #40/#41.

The 274/CR cannot accommodate (among others certainly hiding on our pages) the Simpsons Chubby CH2, CH3, or Wee Scot, the Vulfix's 40, 41, 377, and 2236, or the Omega 599/10048/10098/20102.

The Colonel Conk #116 Shaving Mug is made for use with little soap bars, such as Col. Conk's own well-known soap, of course.  However, it should be stressed that when a Col. Conk soap is brand new, it is a bit too big to be practical in that reservoir.  Because of their contoured bottom sides, we recommend the Muhle soaps as a better fit for use with this mug.  I would recommend cutting the Col Conk soap in half along its long axis, after which you can stuff it in there pretty easily...

I've had an antique version of such a mug for many years now, and use it currently with the Muhle soaps; it is essentially the same size as this.  Just like the Vulfix mugs above, you put nearly-boiling water in the bottom, stick your brush in at the left, put a soap in the top, and go take a shower.  The soap softens up from the rising heat and the brush gets nice and saturated, and you then generate your lather right on the top.

It is a little smaller than the English-made Vulfix mugs above...it measures 3.22" (81mm) tall, 2.95" (74mm) wide at the base, and ~5.7" (145mm) from handle to spout.

The soap reservoir is about 0.6" (15mm) deep, with a 2" (52mm) minimum diameter just above the steam holes and a 2.6" (66mm) diameter just under the top.

This little thing's quite fragile for shipping, which is why it costs so much to move internationally.  Sorry!

The Col 400 & 402 Conk Wooden Bowls are ideally sized for, you guessed it, the Col Conk smaller-sized shaving soaps.
The approximate inner diameter's 64mm, with ~31mm below the rim of the bottom portion hollowed out to accept soap.
