Alles Seife “Men Only” Shaving Soaps Cured In-Mug! (150g Net)
A new Austrian soap debuting in 2018, Alles Seife’s “Men Only” line is a shaving-specific formulation (= not ideal for ideal bathing/shampoo), and we assure you that it is (in spite of having neither palm oil nor tallow!) an exceptionally creamy soap with tremendous stability, volume, and sense of hydration. In fact, I can say emphatically that it is the creamiest soap I’ve put on my face in ~10yrs, and nothing remotely close comes to mind that doesn’t rely heavily on a-bit-smelly-to-me animal fat (I don’t think my nose is exceptional, but nonetheless can sense a tallow base’s metallic/sour tinge in any soap). In a world spoiled for choice among wetshavers it is certainly a benchmark to compare all the legions of American ‘croaps’ in spite of having neither stearic acid base nor animal fat to which those others wholly depend for their great stability/volume. These soaps are also very fragrant without the use of fragrance oils; no palm, no synthetics, against animal testing, and produced with the centuries-old cold saponification process (to which all our TSS-unique-in-North-America offerings of European soaps seem to adhere) but with great stability, something that the cold-stirs (bless their hearts I love them so) are simply not known to possess. When you get accomplished at shaving, you should care less about stability and trade everything for slippery…but if stability’s there in either case, it is of course welcomed.
These adorable “need some bubbles for my troubles” enameled mugs are handmade in Austria and include a whopping 150 grams of this fine soap, CURED IN-MUG! It is not a quick fix to mate mug and soap, but this way all the best lather you make reaches your brush rather than getting lost in the slivers between a reservoir and a lather fuel.
“No. 1”; peppermint, spike lavender, and juniper essential oils for a ‘herbal’ scent profile (in fact it is quite similar to their sibling 3-in-1 soap the ‘Globetrotter’).
“No. 2”; cedar and vanilla essential oils for a ‘warm, woody’ scent profile. We have had this line of soaps for ~3 mos. @ the time of this writing, and while we’re quite happy with the sales of the entire line, the public has voted with their dollars to make No.2 the uneqivocal favorite.
“No. 3”; rosemary and lemongrass oils for a ‘sparkly fresh’ scent profile.
These soaps are quite dense and yield an excellent cost/gram versus American “croaps”, though not as economical as Sampson’s All Natural for example. The target of soap in this mug is about 3.5-inches across, and the mug is wide enough that you can either use your favorite face-lathering brush and hold the mug upside down to the wet brush or a bigger brush with a longer handle and lather in the mug in the bowl-lathering manner.
