Having a policy like that means a LOT of overhead, and while over at the River of Fakes I have *zero* doubt that you’ll often be being sold things which are bought/sold/returned/sold-again-as-if-new, at this stupid little shop I’ll eat the giant loss and sell it to anyone but the original guy at a steep loss to try and mitigate the overhead of pretending it is acceptable to return non-defective personal use items.
I used to just give everything away, or list for a 100% charity on eBay, but my business isn’t doing well, non-Chinese straight razors are dying off, and in thirteen years I have paid out more in refunds like this than I owe on my crappy little house (so I’m more than a bit salty about the topic), and I have to try and just bow to dollars because I’ve nothing left.
