Description

“Premium Model Using Thiers Blank”
Rasoir Sabre’s “Campiono” (6CA112RONI) comes from a 6/8″ 1.3505 (aka 100cr6, 52100) carbon steel blank produced in Thiers, France at an undetermined date, entirely ground by the French company using antique equipment; not to worry, we trade with another company which uses a machine that was produced at the immediate end of WWI!  These ancient hollow grinding tools were built to last.

This is a curious blank, forged by intent to be wider at its toe than at its heel.  It is tremendously hollowed and has a ‘notched’ tang (~5.45mm width) and a true French point.   Scales are made of rosewood, which is now officially a ‘tough get’.  What a beauty!

Weight’s approximately 57 grams.  ~5.95mm maximum spine width, with a ~21.11mm edge-to-grind line maximum distance (for a ~16.2° cutting angle) and a ~74mm cutting edge .  Supplied with a leather sheath.
