The Silver Star #350 is a wide-ring spacing finishing shear that combines the old-school micro-serrated edge familiar to classic European shears with hollow-ground inner blade planes. You make small actuations with your fingers for fine and quick cutting action perfect for the finish.
Getting catch-and-hold and durability advantages of micro-serration style along with the lighter feel of more modern designs with hollowed innards is cool, and NTS is to my knowledge one of the only Solingen makers doing this. But beyond the quantitative stuff, though, isn’t it always nice in life to be able to buy something made by hand by an expert craftsman proud enough to bestow their own name directly upon the product itself? That’s been done here; this is truly handmade through all processes, with the surname of the master grinder right there to see.
The Silver Star #350 is offered in 5.5″ & 6″ lengths, with a removable screw-in finger rest with a bit of texture to its end, and a user-adjustable center screw.
