Very old shaving soap from Spain that has remained, thus far, resistant to changing its highly-alkaline, highly-stable, whisker-melting formulation which, let’s be realistic, dries the skin in exchange for tearing down those hair fibers.
Rub the stick bar directly on your wet face, and use a shaving brush to bring up the lather.
This is quite a drying soap, in this opinion, like Arko. So have some good facial cream or balm-type aftershave ready, like the ones we sell.
The advantage to this old formula, if you can see it that way, is that it does do a particularly good job at breaking down the tensile strength of your whiskers. I prefer cold-saponified soaps; this soap is the antithesis of cold-stir soap. Cold process soaps, because of how they’re made and what goes in to them, retain more of the total fats in the formulation which get married (saponified) with the salts as it becomes a finished soap, and in turn, make for a finished product that is decidedly un-drying to the skin, and generally more slippery if not at all stable or voluminous. However, while cold soaps are great at making moisture for the basis of the hair follicles where they meet the skin and that does help a shave, they cannot begin to dissolve the hairs the way a soap like this one does.
A good compact dry traveling option for carry-on.

I like the “Chicken Francese”, that’s what I’m gonna order, subbing those glorious potatoes for a lame arugula base because of the massive caloric savings and the dearth over time of my caloric balance toward the ‘in’ side of the ledger, and not the ‘out’ side. We’re not there yet, folks, but one can dream.
