Description
“Stork” style embroidery scissors are a longstanding Solingen tradition, and these Nippes 466s have their final grinding steps and all the sharpening done by expert hands in Solingen, Germany.
These weigh about twenty-eight grams and are made of carbon steel, which has been nickel-plated and then given the decorative gold polish.
Nippes is a real old school outfit, and if you put a premium on stainless-or-nothing (as most Americans do) the last best Solingen house of scissors and friends, in this opinion. Some models of scissors, however, such as the stork scissors and crown scissors, the Germans wholly reject to offer in stainless steel, I suppose due to the high demands of the part’s production and the superior ability to work carbon steel.
