It is odd to tremble upon such an oddly steady limb when decreeing that this has to be the most stable and voluminous cold-stir shaving soap – it is a cold soap, but it works like Proraso.  In fact, in many regards it is not like what I associate to cold soaps at all. Just the stearic acid component alone…not a usual combination, to be sure.  But then they’re combining a stearic acid’s drying/stable component with *saponified shea butter*, and more potassium favored in the alkaloid part of things than sodium (but some of each).  This has potassium shea butterate in the INCI, batting third no less, a true shaving soap if not all cold process soaps rarity.

“The softness of a shave with a natural foam from organic vegetable oils such as avocado, coconut, castor. It leaves the skin after shaving pleasant and soft. Fennel, lavender, and geranium essential oils make up the fragrance profile.  Enriched with castor oil for soft and shiny hair.”   

There’s also avocado oil in there, and I presume for the skin benefit rather than the scent profile, which itself is certainly one for the memory banks!

Scents, as described, generally conjure one’s memories.  This soap brings to mind fresh memories of hiking around the less beaten down far-Eastern portions of pathways on the hopelessly-crowded-until-the-daytrippers-leave magical Mediterranean island of Capri, in those areas where citrus trees aren’t dominating scent, you can smell eucalyptus, lavender, fresh sea air, olive trees, and of course citrus.  Some lucky souls those that get to call that scrap of land their born-to.

There’s a slight farmland sensation about the odor, yet still more sophisticated /citrusy than any ‘barnyard’ odor would have a right to speak to.  Floral, citrusy, herbal, a crunchy bark of an olive tree branch on the ground, eucalyptus heard forever in the background, like a tunnel off in the distance with a sound that never dies.  Bravo!
