This is an excellent quality Dan’s Hard Arkansas stone which measures 50x101x22.5mm and has had two 22.5x101mm facets shaped as convex files for using as I’ve been doing in the various YouTube channel content of late. Read the testimonial email, from someone that got a humble Smith’s hard Ark file; geometry matters *a lot* with this stuff, you can’t understand how amazing this is as a tool until you use it!
Using the “the Jarrod plate“, one side’s shaped as 6.5’Øx25’Ø, the other side 25×6.5’…it won’t be hard to figure out which is which, the side where you can see the curvature easily with your naked eye is the side you use first on the razor bevel, then use the side you can’t easily see the curve (but don’t worry, the razor, or a ruler, definitely know it is there!)
As a file shape, ~22.5x100x50mm is very nearly perfect…I think I would choose 24x100x38-40mm if I could draw up anything, but this is close. It is easier to shape this than it is to shape the ~13x13x102mm files they do offer in this grade.

The two facets which are ~2×4″ have been left unaltered from the Dan’s factory condition, which is to say they are damn flat.
