The Nippes 20 thinning shears feature V-shaped thinning teeth providing quite the “texturizational” influence both to the hair itself and the snicketty action of the cutting blade crosses vee-shaped teeth.
This 6″ shear is hand ground of carbon steel, which is nickel plated, and can be used by lefties as easily as righthanders (if lefthanded, use the shears with the Nippes logo facing away from your inner palm). While nickel-plated shears cannot be exposed to steam-sterilization, they’re otherwise quite practical for any professional setting – just dry them thoroughly after use/cleaning, and store in a dry place. Carbon steel is also a bit more resilient, so the cutting edge will endure longer in between any re-sharpening (which in itself is not a common occurrence for any traditionally German ‘bevel type’ {= not convex} thinning shear).
