Description
We met Saly Savons’ creator while in Lyon for 2 extra days after traveling to film the Thiers Isssard factory, and they’re a dyed in the wool French cold saponification specialist, which as you may be aware is right up the ole’ TSS alley. Cold saponified soap’s good for you soul!
This is an extremely gentle soap, the kind of soap challenged to produce white lather. But you can feel the soap in your hands as you rough it up. Sheep’s milk and honey soap is suitable for all skin types and sensitive skin, and in this iteration of cold saponified soap the primary fat by volume is the venerable sodium shea butterate, always a great sign for how you’ll feel hydrated during the soap’s use and not because of a bunch of exotic lipids are stirred in to the mix after final saponification’s occurred as an end-around to a more alkaline soap base. However, there are other ssb-based soaps like Zartgefuehl which are much more ‘entertaining’ than this one.
As gentle as soap comes, I would say. Not just a little boring for a hard core Francophile soap devotee. Some people’s skin, especially on their face, will react to any soap except these kinds of soap, so here you are, a true mild king. Sheep milk’s the only superfat and it needs just a smidge.
