The Cuirs Libellule leather straight razor sheaths are handmade in France and accept 6/8″ or smaller razors.
The tongue-in-a-pocket closure has a nice long overhang.
Veggie-Tanned Old World Charm
The vegetable tanned natural leather upon these straight razor sheaths wears with character and without cracking. It is truly made by hand in central France using methods that have not changed in centuries. It is faithful to nature. You can treat this leather with Ballistol oil and it will reward you with years of service. It is quite to the soft side, so if you’d rather a stiffer leather, we offer the [less natural!] Dovo option.
Fits Most Modern Blades 6/8″ & Under
These leather straight razor sheaths accepts 6/8″ and smaller razors. Torpedo-type scale razors such as Dovo en vogue or Carpe Diem have not been an issue. Very large Sheffield blades will not fit, and if you wish to sheath the Dovo #985850 here you’ll need to put it tail-in.
What About my ___ Blade, Does That One Fit?
Well, Timmy, it is quite likely many >6/8″ razors fit. But if your ____ razor is not adjacent the sheath, Timmy, we’re just guessing. This is as useful as trying on pants in your mind. Risk some roundtrip shipping costs and try it out if you’re burning for it. There are 3 planes of a razor’s dimensions; the long part from the monkey tail to the furthest point on the scale past the toe, the length from the furthest point on the spine to the bottom of the scale when the razor’s folded up, and finally the “girth” of the razor. Let us at least confirm here, thanks to a user whom has a big old razor, that a razor 168x29x13mm fit just fine.
